Breakfast is a real treat at Hog Bay Hill, and guests are invited to gather in the dining room each morning to enjoy a glorious feast complete with espresso coffee or you may choose to enjoy a tailored menu in the privacy of your own suite.
Breakfast is a set menu that changes daily and we are more than happy to accommodate any special dietary requirements.
Think ... Fresh Asprargus Spears wrapped in Pancetta with Poached Eggs and Slow Roasted Tomatoes ... OR Leek, Spinach and Goat's Cheese Tart topped with Smoked Salmon and Sour cream ...OR Crepes with Spiced Apple Compote and Lemon Mascarpone Cream ...OR Scrambled Eggs with Fresh Tomato, Basil Pesto and Chorizo Sausage ... a Raspberry and White Chocolate Muffin on the side ... all served with your choice of freshly ground espresso coffee, boutique loose leaf teas, hot chocolate, chai latte and fruit juice. Dining in at Hog Bay Hill - Your meal will be prepared on site by one of the Island’s leading chefs who will not only provide you with a most memorable food experience but will also share with you their local knowledge of the island’s food scene. Enjoy a 3 course set menu including the best of what the island has to offer. Menu’s can be tailored to suit and may even include local abalone, marron, or lobster! Dinners are available upon request and are subject to availability.
When dining out for lunch and evening meals you’ll be reassured to know that some of the islands best Chefs are located in Penneshaw. Enjoy the best takeaway seafood at FISH, great pizza at Isola, delicious dining and handsome views at Sorrento’s, and the wonderful true country pub atmosphere at the Penneshaw Hotel.
We are very passionate about food on Kangaroo Island and will happily assist you in planning your itinerary to include quality food and wine experiences across the region. Produce available includes sheep’s milk cheese, honey, free range eggs, marron, olive oil, crayfish, King Crabs, King George Whiting and abalone. Some of which can be even be bought direct from the producers themselves.
The island is home to the only pure strain of Ligurian Bees left in the world. As such you must leave all honey and bee related products at home or on the mainland in order to protect this valuable asset.
